I grew up surrounded by dogs and animals. I currently own 3 dogs, 2 cats, a bunny, 3 geckos, an conure and a little hamster! So I am well rounded with many species as well. I own my own business as a dog trainer and my three personal dogs are Balto, Drako and Stark! From the age of 13 through 18 I was reading as much as I could about dog behaviour in my spare time and shadowing trainers to help expand my skills. I then felt like I was ready to share my knowledge and experience with others. I landed an amazing job at PetSmart and became head trainer for 2 1/2 years before leaving and creating One Paw at a Time. I wanted to use my skills and knowledge to its full advantage. I also took a course to improve my skills to train dogs for service work. I can train psychiatric, PTSD and diabetic alert service dogs. My current dogs Drako, Balto and Stark help me everyday become a better trainer and improve my knowledge on our canine companions.
I am also extremely active with my dogs and my clients! Any spare time we have we are exploring and expanding our knowledge and skills! I am also a huge theatre nerd! I was in musicals from grade 2 right through two grade 12! I have an act for memorizing lines or certain scenes to assist with the show. I do very well with direction and can learn quick and on the job! I love working with others and sharing my knowledge when I can or absorbing as much as I can from others as well. I have also been to many seminars with professional trainers, along with celebrity dog trainer Sara Carson! I love traveling, and meeting new people! Excited to see if I can lend a helping hand with myself or my crew!
