Hello my name is Rusty and I am 7 years old and this is my story. I was a city cat but didn't like being confined to the indoors so I was able to move to a farm in the summer of 2020.  I love being a barn cat and have all the freedom a cat can ask for.  In October of 2023 I was out playing with the other cats on a beautiful sunny Wednesday morning and the unthinkable happened, six coyotes appeared, the other cats made it to safety, I tried but didn't succeed. For days I could hear my mum calling me and I couldn’t respond and then on the Sunday night I managed to make my way home, I came crawling into the barn, let out a huge meow to let my mum and dad know I was there and then laid down on the barn floor.  I did it, I made it home to safety it took me a long time but I did it.  I was starving and dehydrated so I was instantly taken to the house for some food, water and a warm bed and first thing Monday morning I was off the the vets office and after X-rays and blood work the vet broke to the news to my mum, the nerves and muscles in my front leg were destroyed beyond repair and they had to remove my leg.  I'm doing great but now I am back to being a house cat and I get bored quickly, so my mum decided that for something else to do she would sign me up with Furry People Productions.  So if you are looking for a loving 3 legged boy, then look no further because here I am. The reason my humans know how many coyotes were there is because they have trail cams set up around the property to keep a watch on the wildlife.
