Kai was Rescued as a pup from the James Bay Native Reserve Area and found his forever home with our family at 12 weeks. He is what we call our "Heinz 57". DNA results reveal that Kai has: 53% Golden Retriever-which explains his incredible even-tempered, intelligent and affectionate. He is gentle with children, and gets along well with other pets and strangers. 18% Siberian Husky- which explains how extremely clever, independent he is and how mischievous, and playful he can get especially during the winter months with his dense, double coat- he could lay outside for hours enjoying the winter fresh air 9% Alaskan Malamute- which explains his desire to remain outside even on the coldest of winter days 8% German Sheppard- which explains his superior Intelligence and Alertness, Obedience, Courage and Loyalty in a forma of protectiveness 3% Labrador Retriever-which explains easy-going personality  making him an excellent companion, as well as assistance dogs due to his sensitive and affectionate nature Kai's good natured demeanour has always attracted people and children to want to sneak a pat on the head or a belly rubbing session along with his non-aggressive temperament caught the eye of an St John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program unit Coordinator who suggested Kai be tested for the Program. Kai was successful and now a member of the SJA Therapy Dog Program (Brampton Chapter) where he provides comfort and emotional support to Paramedics, Students and the Members of the Community. Kai has had Professional Obedience Training and is very Photogenic. He always wants to please the handler/ wrangler which is why he is easy to train and takes direction extremely well. Kai understands some basic American Sign Language (ASL). He has a calming spirit with a beautiful temperament which draws most humans and animals alike into his circle of friendship for life.
